A sigh of relief

I have it. It's finally here. My student visa. I have never been so relieved.

*insert huge sigh of relief here*

Honestly, I was extremely worried that I would not get my student visa in time for my departure. Last week, I emailed the NZ consulate general in LA to ask about the status of my application. They replied and said it had not been reviewed but it would be soon. I was told it would take 3-4 weeks to process and that they were reviewing applications based on departure date.

Oh boy.

Two days later, a man from the consulate called me to say my application was *in-com-plete*. I nearly died. He said I needed to fax him evidence of my scholarship money so they'd know I have a way to support myself financially while I'm in the country. I was in hyper freak out mode. I called CU financial aid to ask them for help, but I didn't get a chance to talk with anyone. Two hours later, someone else from the consulate called me to say that everything was all right and that my visa was being mailed to me as soon as possible.

Thank you thank you thank you(!)

Only 23 more days to go.
